Statement of Faith of the Friendship Evangelical Cell Church

EKV is a participant in the Evangelical Alliance, an umbrella organisation of Christian organisations in the Netherlands. Among other things, this means that we subscribe to the EA Statement of Faith. 

 Basic Declaration of the Evangelical Alliance

a. the unity of God, who has existed eternally in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.;

b. the sovereignty of God the Father in creation, provision, revelation and completion;

c. our Lord Jesus Christ, God revealed in the flesh, born of a virgin, His sinless life, His divine miracles, His substitutionary atonement through His death, His bodily resurrection and ascention, His work as Mediator and His personal return in power and glory;

d. the divine inspiration of the Holy Scriptures and the trustworthiness that comes as a result; the Scriptures are the highest authority for faith and practice; there is no error in what the Scriptures declare;

e. the universal and general sinfulness and guilt of fallen man that subjects him to God's wrath and judgment;

f. the redemtion of the sinner through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son; He makes us righteous through grace, not through works but through faith in Him;

g. the bodily resurrection of the dead: of the believers to eternal life and those who are lost to judgment;

h. the work of the Holy Spirit, Who gives us understanding, Who works out our rebirth and indwells the believer, whereby it is made possible for him to live a holy life, to bear witness to and to work for the Lord Jesus Christ;

i. the priesthood of believers, who unite to form the universal church, the body of Christ of which He is the head and which through the power of His Great Comission proclaims the gospel in the whole world.
