All who want to know more about Christianity are welcome.

Learning and laughing. You can learn while have a good time together.

Pizza and Pasta. Eating together is a standard part of each evening and gives people the opportunity to get to know one another.

Helping one another. Small groups leave room for helping each other by discussing your own questions.

All you ever wanted to know about the Christian faith. The Alpha Course gives you place where no question is too simple or too threatening.

The Alpha Course is a basic glimpse at the Christian faith.  In 10 evenings and on one Saturday or weekend a number of basic principles are explained. The Alpha Course began in a church in London. Since then, more than one and a half million people in more than 100 countries have taken the course. People everywhere are enthousiastic about it.

Dynamic growth!

The Alpha Course began in Holy Trinity Brompton, an Anglican church in London, where it is now offered three times a year to groups of 600-800 participants.  After a conference in 1992 other churches also began to use the Alpha Course. There are now more than 10,000 churches, not only in England, but throughout the world which use the material. It was estimated in 1999 that more than a million people had taken the course. For countless people the Alpha Course has been a surprising (renewed) look at the Christian faith.  Many churches have experienced noteworthy growth as a result. More than 300 churches in the Netherlands have also begun offering the course.

The Alpha Course in the Netherlands

The IZB, together with Youth for Christ Nederland and the Evangelical Alliance, introduced the Alpha Course in the Netherlands. The course material has been translated into Dutch.  The Alpha Course is being given in a number of churches and Christian fellowships in the Netherlands and Belgium. Who is the Alpha Course intended for?

Alpha is for everyone, but especially for:

1) People who want to know more about the Christian faith.
2) People who have just become Christians.
3) People who wat to go back to the roots of their faith and review the basics.
